I just got all exited, I heard the flutter of a landing pigeon but didn't see who it was, then thus appeared from around the corner!

Thinking ahead, if these three are lost, I want to up my numbers. I was thinking about maybe letting squeak sit on her next clutch. She has white as well as the blue and looks beautiful. What would the chances of her having babies that also have white? And, she is paired with her father.....is that OK?!

1744 is approximately 1/2 the size of 1743 even though he/she has been fed everytime I checked except for last night when I found his crop only maybe 1/4 full. Since it was late, I doubted he would get any more so I brought him in and filled him up with thawed peas and put him back.

As you can see 1744 got fed by dad this morning. He is not gaining weight at the pace I expect but is still gaining, so we will see.
edit added - 1743 has an amazing white stripe going on!


With humidity in the 80s my nests get so messy I am constantly adding a layer of clean shavings over the poop. I even dump the whole mess and start over at least 2xs before they come out.

You should start training tosses since you have so many birds.

Yes. They're always in my garden! There must have been a successful hatch out as there seems to be more than usual!

Slim to none.

I have found that unless both parents are white, there offspring rarely have much of any white.I

About them paired, I personally don't like it, but it's up to you. It's not bad, as far as genetics go, but it doesn't seem right in my opinionion...

Does boomer have any eggs comming?

He's a quaker He's a good boy. He's blue, so people are often surprised because they expect him to be green like a 'normal' quaker. He's also split to pallid blue. I have considered getting him a girlfriend, lol. I'm just worried that if I did he wouldn't really be interested in being with humans any more.

Lucky! I love quakers. And blue is my favorite color on them. How old is he? Can I pleaseeeee have a picture?
