Pigeon Talk

Hi all, One of my pigeons seems to be limping. I've been watching her for about a week or so. She's eating and can fly, but something seems to be going on with her leg. I caught her this weekend to get a closer look and I couldn't find anything other than maybe a little heat and swelling. Nothing major, though. Are pigeons prone to leg injuries? Any ideas what to do? Just watch and wait?
Have they been free flying at all?

I had a pigeon that had a broken leg. It was everso swollen and I had to cut the band off. He mostly held it up but did walk on it occasionally. I would recommend maybe putting her in a cage for a week or so, so she can't fly and leg her leg rest. @biophiliac recommended to me to use Arnica cream to help reduce swelling and syphytum pilules to help with healing the bone. If yours doesn't have a broken leg or toes just the Arnica cream applied liberally on the leg should give some relief. It may be its just twisted it landing.
Mine made a full recovery but his leg is still a little larger where the bone healed. He was top cock until one of the youngsters made a challenge!

Morning everyone!

One of my cream yellow bar frillbacks, pretty sure the female, is spending a lot of time in the nest bowl recently. I'm wondering if they might finally be going to lay some eggs.

No more eggs yet from the tumblers but since I saw them mate, I'm sure there should be some eggs on the way soon, so I'm keeping my eye out.

The loft is also almost done - it still needs a door to divide the sections, and I need to install perches and nest boxes, but that's it. Then I'll start work on the aviary part.

It would be lovely to see some 'chicklets' of both those breeds! I'll say though, that those fancy breeds could use some advice from my homers on how to pump out babies!:gig They need to get going before winter.:old

I know right? Though I can forgive the frillbacks since this is their first year, and I guess the tumblers get a bit of a break too since they were shipped into me and needed some time to settle, and they did try once and the egg quit.

But next year I better be getting lots of chicks from them all, lol!

OK :) Mom Chenoa w/chicklets...[I had to add the pine strView attachment 1841178 aw since there were only a few twigs in the bowl and the chicklets were laying on bare plastic.]
