This is my most devoted pair-2 hens.

They have been sitting on 4 plastic eggs for a couple of months now although they both take frequent breaks during the day they do often cuddle up in the nest bowl overnight.
Awhile ago this bird tried to take a day shift on the eggs but they ignored him and he gave up.

Any possibility that they might be a threesome ? I also had that arrangement once. I also had two hens setting on 4 supposedly infertile eggs, and 2 of them hatched. One of those girls was unfaithful.

Seriously. Any of the stupid things people do in relationships pigeons do. I've seen hens catching their mates breeding other hens throw a 'S' fit - beating up the other hen and then their mates.

As you know, it's complicated! Their eggs turn out to be fertile. Doo and Blackfoot are their offspring. So they were hooking up with 'married' cocks. Now I think at least one of them bestowed her favor on Ice, the bird in the bottom pic, and he tried to do his job. Sadly(or happily ), neither is interested in a LTR with any but each other.

Yep, I suppose that starting with 2 males and 6 females probably contributed to the alternative lifestyles in my loft.
