Pigeon Talk

One of my white homers full on flaps at the sight of food! Have you noticed the parents wings when they feed the squabs? Its kinda gross!

@WVduckchick i like your pen, that makes me want to do a dirt bottom. How do you clean it?
I love the 'wing wiggle' that accompanies the peeping to solicit food. Even in adults I can spot a very subtle wing wiggle at the sight of peanuts for example.:) So the peeping is why the youngster are called squeakers I guess.

No I haven't noticed the parents wings. I don't get to observe feeding by parents very often for some reason. What would I see?:)

I haven’t had the pigeons in there very long, but I had bantam chickens there for 2+ years and never do much to it. I may add some leaves in the fall, or shavings if it gets wet (that shouldn’t happen now because it used to get runoff rain that has since been fixed). I also would scrape out the coop and just dump it on the ground underneath, they kicked thru it and scattered it. Deep litter.
Will have to see if it becomes a problem with the pigeons.

I haven’t been able to watch that yet either. :(

For some reason I'm not getting notifications, except quotes.

I flew my rollers today. Even though i said i was in lock down. My goal is to fly my birds just enough to keep them used to the trap. Tommorow ill prob try the homers. If i dont see any hawks that is.

I assume they did ok?
I saw a hawk on my way home the other day, not far from my house. So they are still hanging around here. :hmm
