I thought already posted this. I'm going to build 2 big flight pens in my barn for the capuchins and modenas. I wonder how good a modena pigeon can fly hmmm... I'm sure I will find out.
This says they have "good" flying ability. I can't remember anyone on this forum having the breed, but I just got into pigeons recently, so maybe some of the others will know.

I had a friend who raised both racing homers and modenas. He flew his Modena flock. Talk about nasty, wing slapping, squab scalping bistards - that was them.
Same friend flying his homers. Two weeks in a row one of his birds would have been the first on the clock, but he refused to trap in. Third week he bet the bird heavily (yeah fliers do that) and when it returned he shot it with a shotgun, clocked it in and won the pool.![]()

Technically, it didn't trap in on its own though, so why did he win?![]()
