I never clap. Im afraid it would attract hawks due to wing clapping while flying. But idk.

Thanks. Yes, the canker in the throat kept him from eating, and impacted breathing as well.

Sorry to hear that @biophiliac. How is dobas wing doing now? Has she regained flight?

Thanks CCUK. Doba has regained movement of the wing but unable to gain any height over 2 ft or so. I can feel a strange angle in a wing bone that could be a fracture that healed wrong. How is it going in your loft?

RIP #744 passed an hour ago.

Hand clapping let the pigeons know that I was at the landing platform and safety of landing was increased. Hawks seemed to respect me.

That's a shame. The one I have with the broken wing will never fly again. Her wing is healed but she cannot open it at all. She is living in a rabbit hutch at the moment. The rest are doing great! I can open the trap and they all fly and return when I call them, so I'm pretty happy with them. I have found some pure white pigeons that I am interested in at a friend's farm. They are nesting at a height that I can get to the nests with a ladder, so I'm thinking of acquiring some squabs in the spring! I hope your all set for the big day tomorrow, its 0545 hr and we're just about to go and finish shopping!

Hard boiling their eggs works find for a whole nesting season and longer not only for the original parents.

Don’t feel bad, my shopping isn’t finished yet either, but we won’t be seeing some of our family until next weekend anyway.
Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?
