Pigeon Talk

Thanks for all the help everyone! :)
I'm happy to say that as of five minutes ago the two missing birds came home together. :ya
They fought some strong winds that started up this morning to get back, and they seem none worse for wear. I'm fairly certain that these two birds in particular are a male/female pair, or a bonded pair at the very least because they never leave each other's side.
Great! I wouldn't recommend flying those two till they produce some young. Never fly a bird you can't afford to lose.

@PigeonLady do you have pigeons? What types?

@CCUK boomer is a boy!

I know that feeling too backyard buddy.

HAPPY FOR YOU!

On the next toss release them from the same spot again.

If and when you toss your birds again fly them hungry and put out enough shelled peanuts to feed the birds on their return on the landing platform preferably. On other toss only put out enough peanuts to feed ½ the flock soon they will race home for the lion share.

It was expensive, but it looks pretty good.

Any advice for the two that didn't want to fly at all on the toss? I ended up just calling them down from the wire with some feed and trapping them in the cage I brought them down there in. Were they just not ready?

Also I mix some of that Blue Seal feed into what I feed my birds. I use it in about 1/4 of the total mix. My birds love it.

Give them another time for two. If they don't fly, leave them their. They should come back. If they dont, they aren't 'homers'.

Before you start to train your birds to home it is a good idea to release them hungry from your carrier insight of the loft with peanuts on the landing board. That is my practice then I just keep doubling the distance until I am up to 30 miles.

I have a seasoned bird with my young birds as well when training.
