Sorry I haven't been around. Last week was a super busy week. I do have an exciting announcement. We got our first egg!!!! Hoping Ethel will lay her second this evening or tomorrow.

I've also locked Ricky in his nesting box so that he will hopefully feel settled and try to woo a mate. Need these birds to get cracking. First birds expecting to hatch on the 20th. Video soon.

I wonder if the frillbacks are a bit less cold hardy? It looks like they have a curly layer of feathers on top of a smooth layer?
Like silkies and frizzled chickens may have a slightly harder time with the cold, but not too bad, I think.
