OMG! They are great and what a beautiful birth announcement. I am crying tears of joy! Congrats to all.

Also I am so excited to announce Doba makes further progress! Excuse the photo bomb, I could hardly believe my eyes....
View attachment 1700384 View attachment 1700385 View attachment 1700386 View attachment 1700387 She has not been able to reach this higher perch since her injury. You can see she till has scarring on the right side of her neck.
:celebrate YAY Doba!!! Way to go! :clap
I've just finished doing my evening rounds and whilst I was checking the pigeons I believe I have found who #65 (female) is paired with. #66 her brother! Not great. But seeing as I'm not wanting them to breed anyway it doesn't matter. So I now have a paired father and daughter and now a brother and sister! If I manage to get a larger loft I'm going to have to buy in some birds. Any excuse to get more birds!
Do you really an excuse? Im sure we can find some.. :D:gig
She kept them all down so I gave her a bit more tonight.
Hopefully now that I can keep her fed and hydrated the neck twist goes away. I'm starting to think it may be permanent...
:( :hugs
:love:love:love
I think I’m going to name this most recent pair two B names, then the next pair C names, and so on, so I can remember hatch order.

Brick and Brewer, I’m thinking. Will try those out on the pair, see if they stick.

Bonnie and Clyde’s pair are due any time now. First egg was laid 2/25, second the next day.
I like that idea... and those names are good too! :clap
I just went out and got all the leg band numbers from the birds that I acquired.
Snapped a few showing the 10mm band on them. I still think the 8’s that I used on the others is ok too.

Congrats! They are beautiful! :love
I just checked and unfortunately she threw up the second smaller helping of peas I gave her last night. I'm not sure why because they were warm like the other helping that she kept down.
Oh dear.. I hope you can get her past this! :fl:fl

You are killing me Pyxis!!! :love
Dangit, now I have to see if there are any frillbacks in my area.

I actually built and mounted a couple of new roost posts yesterday, in the pen next to my group. So once I get rid of the chickens in that pen, all I have to do is take out the wire wall. I'll add a feed/water station on that side too, and remove the front of the chicken coop. Just a few screws to take out.

You deffinetly need some frill backs! :fl:fl :D

Way to cut down on your numbers, lady! ;)
Ikr!.:lau
She was already sitting by the time Id decided to sell out.. she didnt get the memo I guess..:lau

I honestly don't know what to suggest. Is taking her to a vet an option?
I'd like it if it didn't come down to that but it will have to be an option if it comes down to it. There's only one vet in my area that'll take birds and the last time I went to them with a budgie they botched it up so bad I swore I'd never take another bird there again.
This pigeon is dear to me and I won't give up on her if I can get some sort of improvement out of her.

Well.. I ended up with 7 out of 9 duck eggs hatch.. proud fiesty mom and her littles are doing great! :D

It's not taken you long to increase capacity....just in case! :gig

I didn't get much out of the vet when I took Doba either. I couldn't afford x-rays and such to look for anything the vet couldn't find on exam so I just took her home, thinking about euthanasia but resolved to give her a chance to get better on her own. At least Doba was able to eat and drink so that was a plus. I hope yours is able to pull through. I think you are doing right by her, trying to give her every chance.

Momma duck is beautiful!

Took a turkey to an avian vet. They had no turkey experience. She had an impacted crop which he actually was able to treat. Had to leave her for the day & get to work. When I picked her up she was in his office roosting on the back of his chair. She's a big blue slate layed back pet & he fell in love with her. Couldn't believe how easy she was to work with. Plus she followed him around the office. I almost choked over the bill...but I'm so attached to her I needed to try.
