Pigeon Talk

To my eye they are beautiful, nice shape and stance too. Are you breeding for more white, less white, different color distribution? I don't know about mottles
Well truthfully, I don't like mottles and splashes as much (there was a time when I would not keep any of them). I'm starting to soften up to them a bit though. I'm not breeding for anything in particular really... at this point it's just a curiosity thing to see just how white they will get. Breeding for some certain amount of white or color distribution in mottles is very difficult because these birds are born solid red or yellow, and then when they molt some of those feathers are replaced with white ones, and in successive molts more white comes through. It's not like pied or splashes which have the white feathers from the beginning.

The one thing that I have learned about pigeon people so far is that they always want to help out someone getting into the sport/hobby.
that is very true. That is one of the reasons why there is still a small community of pigeon fanciers around. But sadly, a lot of clubs are scared of competition and don't want to help new members race. this is shortsighted and foolish. There's a reason clubs have gone from 80 members to 8 members in the past 50 years. If there scared of competition from a new and learning racer, they aren't much of a flyer themselves...
It has really made the whole experience of trying to get things figure out that much easier and that much more fun!
I'm glad! It's super rewarding to help someone out, especially knowing that we will get pictures when you get your birds, right? ;)

I can’t wait to post some pictures! One thing I love about this site is everyone enjoys the same stuff! Now my fiancé doesn’t have to listen to me all the time!
