Pilgrim Geese thread

Are pilgrims the most broody goose because I am looking for a broody breed of goose. And I was wondering how many eggs they lay each year.

Hi everyone :) i ordered 2 pilgrams from Murray McMurray today, they should ship the 13th. I am hoping for a pair, but they only sell straight run. Most everywhere i checked were already out for the year.

Why would anyone sell straight run autosexing birds? I bet a lot of people end up getting 2 males just so they can get rid of everyone of them during hatching season.

They sell all their geese straight run, i guess so they don't have a lot of left over males. 1 would hope that they would try to send half and half of the auto sexing. Thats my hope anyway

So our farm has been a flurry of activity today. There has been a pair of Canada geese nesting on our place for several years. We were told this by the people that live next door since we've only had a little under 2 years now. So now that we've introduced the Pilgrims, there has been some discussion about who holds the deed to duck island. So far the Pilgrims are winning these discussions and the Canada geese are a little bewildered about the whole situation. Now today, add ANOTHER pair of Canada geese that want to call our pond home. It was rather entertaining watching all the chasing, posturing, honking and other goose dispute settling techniques. There were no clear winners tonight. And the Pilgrims, while talking vigorously for a short time they really lose interest in hostilities very quickly. Of course this is all involving the Pilgrim trio as the bachelor couldn't care less and won't go help since he ain't getting no girl action no way. lol

You need to set up a game camera so we can see it all on video
