PINK! They made it PINK! UGH!

When I was at the feed store, I did see the pink bags of layer and rabbit feed. But they also had a display in the center. Goat feed, horse feed, nylon halters, haybags, leads, all Pink. Now all of those that "love" pink can have a color coordinated farm yard!

(I actually thought the haybag was pretty cute, but I don't have horses)

UGH! I gotta agree! I know it's for a good cause but why did they ever pick pink to represent such an important cause in the first place?!! I loathe pink! It is the most godawful color on the planet! Well except in sunsets and a very few flowers that have mastered some restraint in their pinkish hues.

Even watching football lately has been an ordeal! Usually that's a pink free zone!

Yeah but that's only so the male officers won't ask to borrow your cuffs.

My husband works with a male officer who has a set of pink cuffs. He likes to use them on the Frat boys he arrests.

Sweetie, no one is say NOT to support it, but here's my thinking at this point in time, because there is SOOOOOOO much of that disgusting color out there (And I've hated pink since I was a child) It's gonna have the reverse effect and people are gonna STOP donating because they're just plain sick of it!

Yomama - sorry that you've lost so many, but as I said above.... And this pink thing has been going on LONG before this month, and yes there are some of us that JUST. DON'T. LIKE. PINK.

Also, the other colors of awareness just are NOT as prevalent as pink has been. So tell me this, why is is more special than other colors?

So yea, take it easy, most (if not all) were just being silly and venting that enough is enough!

I really don't know why the other colors aren't out there more. I wish they were. Maybe it has something to do with who and what supports a particular cause. I have had numerous types of cancer in my family, not just breast cancer, so I would love to see other colors of support, being promoted. I know everyone is just sick of the color, I would just hate people to lose sight of why it is out there.

I agree, there are many more types of cancer out there, and many have a far poorer prognosis than breast cancer. My personel experience: everyone I know who has been diagnosed with breast cancer has survived, everyone I know who has been diagnosed with uterine or ovarian cancer has died.

I would prefer to see research and resources more equitably distributed among these deadly diseases, not focusing on one at the expense of others.

Dontcha just hate it when work interferes with BYC.

I'm back, and I truly appreciate all those who posted. I never expected that this silly thread would go on so long. I was hoping for maybe 5-10 replies.
Just to make sure everyone knows where I am coming from.
Even if I tried, I couldn't muster the energy to really hate a color. (Isn't that what bosses are for?)
I am a supporter of breast cancer research (all disease research really) Tonight I stopped by Safeway on my way home and they have a big promo going on to support breast cancer research. Weirdly though they have one of their checkers in a giant cage, in the middle of the store. If you give her money they won't let her out. I think she won't be going home tonight.

In an odd way I came to chickens because of breast cancer. I used to work with a good friend. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. One of the things she did while fighting for her life was to get chickens for the organic eggs and meat. Well she fell in love with her chickens and couldn't eat them. So they became beloved pets with benefits. Fan was one of the lucky ones, she beat the cancer, and beat it soundly. Unfortunately she couldn't keep her little flock, and I was the lucky recipient.
My first flock owed their lives to breast cancer.

Now on to more serious matters. Gritty, Redhen, Purple and the rest of you miscreants.

Hmm, The more I think of it, the more delicate I feel. Doesn't a bubble bath sound good? Think I'm gonna paint my toenails tonight, and put my hair up. OOOHHHH! AAAHHHH!
