PINK! They made it PINK! UGH!

Sweetie, no one is say NOT to support it, but here's my thinking at this point in time, because there is SOOOOOOO much of that disgusting color out there (And I've hated pink since I was a child) It's gonna have the reverse effect and people are gonna STOP donating because they're just plain sick of it!

Yomama - sorry that you've lost so many, but as I said above.... And this pink thing has been going on LONG before this month, and yes there are some of us that JUST. DON'T. LIKE. PINK.

Also, the other colors of awareness just are NOT as prevalent as pink has been. So tell me this, why is is more special than other colors?

So yea, take it easy, most (if not all) were just being silly and venting that enough is enough!

I really don't know why the other colors aren't out there more. I wish they were. Maybe it has something to do with who and what supports a particular cause. I have had numerous types of cancer in my family, not just breast cancer, so I would love to see other colors of support, being promoted. I know everyone is just sick of the color, I would just hate people to lose sight of why it is out there.

Whoa! Imp is not the ogre you assume. It was simply a lighthearted attempt to inject a little humor into everyone's day. And it also brought awareness to people about WHY the bag is pink. If Imp hadn't started this thread, many would remain unaware.

While my grandmother died of breast cancer, humor was important. While my other grandmother died of cancer, humor was a large part of her attitude. When my sister went through her treatments, she enjoyed humor. My birth mother died of cancer when I was less than a year old. My stepmother and MIL died of cancer just months apart. A wacky sense of humor was one of the things that allowed them all to keep fighting the good fight. And do it well.

The old saying the "laughter is the best medicine" exists for a reason. During very difficult times people must be able to keep their spirits up. A morbid, too serious attutude tends to bring people down. We were all very serious about research, treatments and the results. But there was never any call for any of us involved to stop having any humor.

That is very well true about who is supporting it, once again it's usually about who's the BIGGEST or has the most money.

I think the problem IS going to be people losing sight just because it's TOO MUCH being shoved in their faces. Sad fact, but probably true.

Things overdone never turn out well, unfortunately.

The last thing I would want to do is take away humor from otherwise horrible situations. I agree, humor and laughing make healing and very hard times much easier to deal with. That is why I stated that I know most were just being silly. It just sounded to me like the whole point of why the bag was pink was being missed. I apologize if I came off harsh, it is just a little bit of a touchy subject for me.

I love the pink color. I will be re-cycling all of the pink bags and sewing them into cute tote bags. I'm collecting all of the pink bags that I can. Send them my way. I will re-use and re-cycle.

Life is hard, but you have to keep teaching, keep laughing.

I personally do not like pink. But then again, I don't have macho issues either. Which is why I called my sis, a 16 year survivor, with the news that I had just gotten a pink bag! She howled about it.

i personally don't like pink either but i support the cause, i got 3 of them when i bought feed but mine r all different than urs mine r rabbit feeds so mine have bunnies on the fronts.
