PIP! I have a PIP! Now a CHICK(PIC)

Hi, All. It's OUT! The Ameraucana chick looks very black. Eyes were open, focused and blinking when it hatched. Pics in awhile. I saw movement from two of the other three, but no pips yet.
There are only five in this batch.

Here are hatching pics of the Ameraucana egg and baby, especially for those of you who haven't had the pleasure and thrill of hatching your own yet:

congrats on the babies I am sure they all will be girls LOL

I have a question??? What happens to the goowee stuff on there bellys? Does it dry and fall off or what? What is it?

Yep, they just peck a tiny hole, then work their way around and pop the top off. It's awesome to watch. Christina, that gooey stuff is just the remains of the yolk sac and it falls off in a few minutes, usually. The first one didn't even have that at all. The babies are in the brooder-I took them out since the others hadn't pipped yet. Now, we're waiting for the other three. I'll take pics of the two in the brooder.

Wow, great pics and congrats Cyn!

I don't care how many times I see this stuff, but I'm always amazed at what an egg can turn into in just a few weeks. Just amazing that a bunch of goo can change so much in so little time.

Blows me away.
