Okay, I bowed to the power of their cute little faces and removed the fence between the littles and the Legbars. I had it up because the Legbars would have originally been a week younger than the littles, so it was for their protection, but since then the Legbars were actually a week
older than the littles, I left it up to protect the littles from
them, just in case. Well, dear people, I was so wrong in doing so! Immediately, like I said before, Kit-kit attached herself to the Legbars and was always eating with them. And since the others seemed to get along so well with them through the wire, I figured all would go well. I opened up the fence and let the babies have some play time so I could observe them as they got used to one another, and they got along fine! The Legbars even taught the littles to dust bathe in the shavings rather than out on the carpet.
And then there was Mabel. Oooh, naughty Mabel! The Legbars are shy of me as is, but were finally starting to come out of the brooder for play time as well, and Mabel went right over and thwacked them on the head! Mean Mabel! So the Legbars never did come out, but I did have a stern talking to to Mabel and she seems to have cooled her heels about the Legbars. And here I thought it would go the other way!
Meanie face!
Anyway, well, I did have names picked out for the Legbars and I have been calling them by them, but I don't feel as if they fit just right. Perhaps it is because Romana and Serena didn't hatch (or maybe I'm just being strange as usual), but I don't know. They don't look like a Romana and a Serena to me.
For now, I'm looking at names and trying to see what fits, so I'll refer to them as the bigger one and the smaller one. The smaller one hatched from a pullet egg, so she's, well, smaller.

Neither of them is as big as I thought they would be for being about a week older than the littles, though! But judging by their feather growth compared to the others, I think their size is deceptive of their age.
So here they are at last!

The two of them together; smaller on the left and bigger on the right. Bigger doesn't like to pose as nicely as smaller.
Here again, smaller posing nicely and bigger... pecking.

But oh, well.
Smaller and Kit-kit, because Kit-kit wants to be the Legbars' best friend!:
I'm thinking about some of the names I considered and then decided against for the others, such as Audrey, Phoebe, Juno, Poppy, Dmitri, or Tetra. I dunno, I'll pick what seems to fit them at the time.
