Loving the pictures, as usual!!

The babies are looking happy and healthy, as always!!

:D I hope so! I do my best!

Speaking of healthy, miss Tilly is doing well and her neck wound looks healed over at this point, save for some scabbing! :D Bright eyes:

And a silly look, because Tilly will be Tilly.

On another front, the Legbars I've been planning for (as mentioned on another thread but not here yet, I think) are hatching today. Thus far, the person hatching them says 4 out of the 5 that made it to lockdown are boys. :( So if the last one hatches female, I'll just be getting her, but if not, he has two pullets that are about a week older than Elda, Kit, Georgie, Louise, and Mabel that will most probably take the place of the ones that would have hatched today. :D

Okie-dokie, sorry for not posting pictures for a couple days now! I was busy on Monday and didn't get pictures. I did get pictures of the babies yesterday, but since it's a little late now, here's just the best ones of each of them:

Elda getting her cuddles :love

Elda again:

Georgie:

1000

Kit-kit, who appears to have grown a mustache!

1000

Louise, surprised! (She blinked, augh, but the pic was too cute not to share.)

1000

Mabel, with her usual sweet face :love

Well, today came another addition--hopefully the last addition, at least for the year! I haven't had the chance to take many pictures of them, but the Cream Legbars are here! As is my luck, the person hatching them for me had an all-male hatch. :he Luckily, he had two pullets just a week older than the littles I already have. :D (ETA: Forgot I mentioned this in my last post. Don't mind me, I've gone brainless for the summer...)

I do have pictures of my original babies today as well, but I still have to crop them and save them to my computer. Will post them... eventually!

Haha, yeah, Elda is similar to Rangi in a lot of ways! But, she is also definitely her own birdie! Elda's a cuddler, while Rangi was (still is, sometimes) a percher!

Although...

Hmmm.... ;)

Well, I have more pics of the babies tonight! None of the Legbars just yet. They are in the brooder, separated by a wire wall that makes it hard to get pictures of them. I'm going to see what they do tomorrow during 'play time' and they might be out with the other littles from then on if everything goes well!

But before I get to the baby pictures, I wanted to update about Tilly. I have been sitting with her for about an hour every morning and every night, but she hasn't exactly been social with me, so I started to get books and things to look through so that she has my company but I'm not just sitting there. Tonight, I sat down with a book and was reading through it when Tilly slowly stepped out of her pen next to me. I talked to her and she talked back, and I showed her my book, which she looked really closely at. She was very interested every time I turned the page (it was a graphic novel / manga thing, so it had more pictures than words) and even pecked at some of the characters. Then, she started exploring the 'quarantine area', something which she has not been brave enough to do until tonight, and she would talk to me questioningly as if asking if she could go this way or peck at that. (I had to move her back to her pen, though, when she started trying to eat little scraps of paper that were left on the floor. ) All in all, I feel like I made some sort of connection with her tonight. :love It was very sweet.

Here they are! :D Elda:

Georgie:

1000

Mustached Kit:

1000

Louise:

1000

Mabel:

1000

Left to right, we have Kit, Mabel, Georgie, Louise, Elda, and then the Legbars in the background! They reach through and eat with the others. Kit seems particularly fond of them and always wants to eat with them when they reach through. :love

Elda!! :D

1000

Elda loves her cuddles. :love

1000

So sleepy...

1000

Louise, at attention! Love her little face! :love

1000

Louise and Georgie. They're plotting again...

1000

Louise is particularly difficult to get pictures of, so I picked her up. I got this look as a result. "Put. Me. Down."

1000

"I mean it, human!"

1000

And finally, Mabel. She has such the sweetest expressions! :love

1000

Okay, not a whole lot today, but these were the only good ones. I take about 80 pictures, give or take, every time I have them out, but I only get a few good ones. Chicks move around too much. Oh, and they blink too much, too.

Okay, I bowed to the power of their cute little faces and removed the fence between the littles and the Legbars. I had it up because the Legbars would have originally been a week younger than the littles, so it was for their protection, but since then the Legbars were actually a week older than the littles, I left it up to protect the littles from them, just in case. Well, dear people, I was so wrong in doing so! Immediately, like I said before, Kit-kit attached herself to the Legbars and was always eating with them. And since the others seemed to get along so well with them through the wire, I figured all would go well. I opened up the fence and let the babies have some play time so I could observe them as they got used to one another, and they got along fine! The Legbars even taught the littles to dust bathe in the shavings rather than out on the carpet.

And then there was Mabel. Oooh, naughty Mabel! The Legbars are shy of me as is, but were finally starting to come out of the brooder for play time as well, and Mabel went right over and thwacked them on the head! Mean Mabel! So the Legbars never did come out, but I did have a stern talking to to Mabel and she seems to have cooled her heels about the Legbars. And here I thought it would go the other way!

Meanie face! :tongue

Anyway, well, I did have names picked out for the Legbars and I have been calling them by them, but I don't feel as if they fit just right. Perhaps it is because Romana and Serena didn't hatch (or maybe I'm just being strange as usual), but I don't know. They don't look like a Romana and a Serena to me.

For now, I'm looking at names and trying to see what fits, so I'll refer to them as the bigger one and the smaller one. The smaller one hatched from a pullet egg, so she's, well, smaller. Neither of them is as big as I thought they would be for being about a week older than the littles, though! But judging by their feather growth compared to the others, I think their size is deceptive of their age. :)

So here they are at last! :D The two of them together; smaller on the left and bigger on the right. Bigger doesn't like to pose as nicely as smaller.

1000

Here again, smaller posing nicely and bigger... pecking. But oh, well.

1000

Smaller and Kit-kit, because Kit-kit wants to be the Legbars' best friend!:

1000

I'm thinking about some of the names I considered and then decided against for the others, such as Audrey, Phoebe, Juno, Poppy, Dmitri, or Tetra. I dunno, I'll pick what seems to fit them at the time. :D
