Thank you and I am so glad you didn't give Crash the nutridrench. I think the baby vitamins would be a lot safer for her.
No little turtle babies in our future. I put her egg in my collection of itty bitty chicken eggs. I was shocked when I saw the egg we were so sure she was a he.![]()
One week on the new babies that's so exciting. Are you going to take pics of them weekly like you did the silkies?
We have more rain today. The ducks love all the rain but the chickens aren't happy with it all.
Marge wants more babies. I love silkies but they are so broody all the time. You don't need an incubater when you have silkies.
Have a great day and i hope you feel better.
There will probably be near daily pictures of the babies, at least while my camera memory lasts!
Actually, there probably would have been more frequent pictures of Margie's babies when they were little if I wasn't so busy with class there for a while. Oh, well. And yeah, I'm speculating Margaret is more interested in being an incubator than a mother.
The babies seem so confused. She has been sitting in their carrier for a couple days, and they never know if they can go in to pile up for the night or not! I guess it won't matter before long, as I'm sure they'll integrate into the flock fairly easily. Only thing holding me back at this point is that Reuben really, really misses Margie and has shown signs of getting rough with her again as a result.
We're getting some rain up here, too, but that's fortunate for me because my mom put in our garden a couple days ago! So at least I don't have to drag myself outside to water it today! I feel like I'm recovering at this point, but still coughing and choking on congestion. Ugh. I'm sure I'll be on my feet again in the next few days. Either way, I've got to get some things tomorrow and prepare for the chicks this week. No rest for the wicked, as they say.

Edited to add the quote.

...In just 6 days!!
The feed store was sold out of all but the expensive organic chick feed and the medicated feed, so I didn't get feed. They had only huge waterers, none of the chick sized waterers, so I didn't get the waterer. They did have feeders that weren't too big, but I decided to hold out for the kind I prefer. They didn't have the disinfecting wipes I wanted for the babies' first week here. And I forgot entirely to get a tarp and some duct tape to make the brooder out of. So all I got after all yesterday is the feed for the big girls.
