Pipd's Peeps!

Pics
The babies today! As of yesterday, they're two weeks old! I would have gotten pictures yesterday, but my aunt came over for Memorial Day and we grilled and spent a long time with the big girls. My girls aren't shy--my aunt ended up holding a few of the pushier ones because, well, a lap is a lap.

Anyway, pictures! In alphabetical order, here are their weekly pictures. Y'all can probably tell, but a few of them were busy carpet bathing and so they didn't want to pose nicely.

Callette the Silver Gray Dorking:

Cazzie the Blue Cochin:

1000

Donnie the Dorking--You can see his chest feathers are coming in dark compared to Callette's and Lydda's. Donnie's definitely the boy! :)

1000

Endymion the Easter-egger:

1000

Flury the Splash Cochin:

1000

Izzy the Blue Ameraucana:

1000

Lydda the Dorking:

1000

Rooska the Lavender Orpington:

1000

And finally, Umru the Light Brahma (UGH, she blinked!) :

1000

A few more from today. Here is Izzy in my hand again. Such a perfect poser. :love

1000

Meanwhile, up in front of her, Cazzie was very interested in my shirt.

1000

This is what I kept getting of Lydda while trying to get her side-profile picture above.

1000

Rooska, right where she wanted to be. :love

1000

Endymion kept flying over my leg and out onto the carpet. Doesn't she look so ashamed of herself?

1000

Izzy again. :love My little parrot.

1000

The Dorking sisters, Callette and Lydda. I wish they both were in focus in this picture instead of just Callette, though! :/

1000

Umru and her bright eyes :love She looks like she's wearing pajamas with the rest of the chicks feathering out so much faster. :p

1000

Busy babies! :love Busy tearing up the paper towels, anyway!

They have almost doubled in size compared to what they were you first picked them up. Their little poses for the camera are so cute love them all. Umru must be a late bloomer on those feathers. What color do you think she is going to be? She looks so big boned .

The dorkings are so cute they sure stick togeather for their group shots. Donnie is getting handsome I wonder if he knows he's the only boy in the group?

Have a great day and thanks so much for sharing the babies with us. I really enjoy looking at their pics.

Oh, I know, they are growing way too fast! They already seem so huge when I go back and look at their pictures from the day they arrived! These two pictures of Izzy in my hand really show how much she's grown, and she's one of the smaller chicks!

Umru is a Light Brahma, so she should be white with some black. That being said, I've seen Light Brahmas look almost as dark as Dark Brahmas, so we'll have to wait and see what she looks like. :D I don't mind either way, but a super dark Light Brahma would be cool! She is a late bloomer for sure. I've heard it's a Brahma thing, though, so I think she's normal for her breed. I felt around her belly and back and she doesn't even have any pins coming in yet, except a few on her tail! Poor girl will be naked before long!

9 days, till I get my chicks!!!!! :weee :celebrate :yesss:

:weee Getting close!! Got everything set up for them? :D

Happy belated hatchway Crashie! And wow those babies are getting big! They already are growing feathers

And to think just a few weeks ago you were still having your chick countdown.

Wow you can really see the size difference with Izzy. They just grow to fast. You might have to get Umru a onesie if she gets naked.

That ought to put her in a real good mood.

I'm going to a baby shower today. One of my coworkers that I worked with at Krogers is having a baby boy.

Have a great day.

Hi, all! Sorry for the lack of posts and pictures the past few days. I wanted to stop by and let y'all know what's up. On Wednesday evening, my conure, Koda, suddenly died. He had been falling off his perches every once in a while for a few days and we knew something was up, but couldn't get him to the vet soon enough. :( So I've been spending a lot of time with my little feathered therapists, but I just haven't been in good enough spirits to pick up the camera.

Today, or at least at some point this weekend, I'm going to *hopefully* get up the gumption to take the pictures of the Silkie fuzzies that I should have taken on Thursday, when they turned 12 weeks old. They are looking more and more like grown-up chickens every day, and starting Thursday I started putting them on the perches with the big chickens at night. They are not yet convinced this is where they should sleep and return to their box to pile up every night, but I'm determined!

I'm also hoping to get pictures of the babies today. They haven't stopped growing yet, in spite of my very convincing arguments for them to stay small! As such, I had to expand the brooder, so it's a lot larger than it was. They're confused because they used to come out of the brooder to play when I was up there with them, but because of how it's set up now, I can't open it anymore for them to have carpet time. They'll have to wait until they're big enough to fly over the edge, I guess. Anyway, instead of them coming out for play time, I just move the shavings aside and sit in the brooder with them. They still love to climb on me with their little razor claws! Callette sat on my lap and snuggled up for a long time last night, it was sweet. The others were too busy hopping up, then hopping down, then hopping up, then hopping down... Busy little babies!

So yeah, I will have pictures at some point in the near future! Will post them when I have them! :)
