I have never seen this happen. Anxious to see replies.. I would wait a little while and see what happens and research what to do.. If no one replies.. As a matter of fact I'm googling this now.. So i will know if this ever happens to me

So I had a few that pipped wrong end this time. One hatched no worries, one I attempted to assist as he pipped but didn't break the membrane so I left it awhile then nicked the membrane. He was cheeping happily, all seemed OK but then next day no movement etc. I didn't break the egg open to see at the end but I suspect he either didn't have enough room to move around or maybe wasn't strong enough. My ones that pipped the wrong end and survived took a long time to hatch compared to the others, but they did hatch and were healthy with no intervention.

The good news is, you probably won't have to do anything at all :) Wrong end pippers usually hatch out just fine all on their own.

It does take them much longer from pip to zip than a chick that pipped normally, because they didn't get any time to rest in the air cell like a normally positioned chick does. So make sure to allow it plenty of time before you start to worry.

Thanks guys I removed the shell only around him so he didn’t have to zip and gave him the night to fully make sure he’d absorbed all the yolk. He was the last man out from 25 eggs so I knew he should be ready and completely removed the shell this morning there was a sticky slime covering him not sure if that’s shrink wrapped or not but he’s doing really well!
