Pizza Dough Recipe (pics added! 2-5-09)

this is a great way to utilize chicken on pizza:

prepare one Large crust from Fast Pizza Dough

top with:
bbq sauce (good stuff, don't cheap out on me here) spread just enough to cover the dough leaving a crust. don't attempt to deep dish it. just enough to cover.

1/2 a medium red onion cut into rings or chopped medium (whatever you like)

grilled chicken that is pulled into bite sized shreds (without sauce)

sprinkle dried cilantro on top

bake as directed.

absolutely gourmet quality!

I thought a packet of yeast was 2 1/2 teaspoons.

my bad, you are correct. thanks for pointing out! i will correct above.

but if you are using packets, make sure you measure it, because it is filled by weight, not measure.

I think Jayne needs to make photos while making the dough and bread sticks.

what! as long as i can behind the camera, not in front of it.

i make a menu once a week, so maybe i can squeak a pizza in next week.

should i include pics of my children getting all the pizza before mom and dad get any?

I made two 12" pan style pizzas last night with this recipe:

4½ cups bread flour
1½ cup water
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 tablespoons powdered milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

I covered the bottom of two 12" stoneware pans in olive oil, split the dough in half, stretched the dough to fit the pans and let rise for an hour and a half. I topped them and baked at 400 for 20 minutes.

This turned out almost just like a Pizza Hut pan pizza. Everybody loved it. I thought the flavor of the olive oil was a touch off. Maybe next time I'll try a butter flavored Crisco or a heavy spray of butter flavored Pam in the pans.

Yummy!!!! We made pizza last night too - dough was made in the breadmaker and then put into cast iron frying pans. Once the fire was extinguished in the oven (don't ask) we put the pizzas in and they were EGGCELLENT!!! Made wonderful deep dish pizzas!!!

Yeah, I was panicking but it was just the grease from the stuffed cabbage burning off. Once the fire went out, we put the pizzas in. I don't normally like a thick crust but this was wonderful!
