That bird is SO cool though. I've never seen barred/splash before, either. He's unique, somebody will take him.

Male, unfortunately. Also, it is not a Buff orp/ Ameraucana mix because it is a barred colas with yellow legs.
@nicalandia @The Moonshiner get over here. I’ve never seen a splash bird with barred black splashes.

Ok, so how can you tell?? We attempted to sex when we brought Chickie Nuggie home and were 50/50.

His comb is very large and very red for his age.
His feathers are pointed.
He crows (badly)
His whole stature screams boy. I’m sorry.

Try not to vent sex if that’s what you are talking about. The comb is the indicator here, and the random patches of feathers

We had a look at vents but I didn't see a difference. We had seen something about first feather growth and did it strictly for fun

Although vent sexing is a thing, it can be dangerous without proper knowledge though.
