Please help! Do I need to put coconut oil on pip?

No problem. Ohhh, ok. Oh, haha. We'll see what it turns out to be. 2 and a half hours isn't that bad. When traveling with chicks I like to get one of those big hot hands packets, and wrap it in a thin towel. Then make it into a little cave for the chicks and close the box. I've had good luck with that. How many are you getting?

I'm not sure yet. I was waiting to see how things went with Raymona today. Plus, I had a busy day at work today. Hopefully I can go tomorrow. Thank you for the wonderful advice. I will certainly do that!

Ok. I hope Raymona gets better. That was a lot of weird blood clot stuff in your other thread. Poor baby. No problem.

Hi Heather. I hope things are starting to get better there. How is Raymona and Marionette (Axle)? Did you end up getting any serama chicks? I've been prayng for you, and that better luck starts coming your way.

Hi @MGG. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate you. Sadly, I lost my sweet, precious, and beautiful Raymona on Friday morning. She died while I was holding her.
Another one of my favorite members here (I have several and you're one of them) mentioned that it could be coccidia and as more time passes, that appears to be the case. I am so upset with myself that I missed symptoms in Raymona before she became so sick, but I am incredibly grateful for the help I received. Honestly, I don't know where I'd be without this place and all of you. I started treating everyone with Corid and after finding some blood in the stools from one of Raymona's flockmates, it was suggested that I add sulfa to their treatment asap. This morning I noticed some possible bloody poop in the brooder that Fancy Nancy and the turken "Vulture" are in, so I added Sulfa to their Corid water. The Serama has been moved into the shop bathroom in hopes of protecting it. With all of that said, I haven't added any more Seramas. Poor little Marionette/Axle is all alone. It has become super sweet, almost affectionate towards me. Before he only wanted to get away.

I've had the incubators loaded (not completely full) and an upcoming hatch date nearly slipped by. I need to go back and double check but I believe it's Day 19 for some of the eggs. I went through and candled every single egg last night. The ones that should be hatching very soon are in the NR360. They've incubated with the humidity right around 25%. I certainly don't want to drown them so I wanted to ask you what I should raise my humidity to? I was able to easily get it up to 50% last night but I am just terrified that I'm going to drown them, especially since I've lost so many at hatch. What do you suggest? @MGG

Oh no :hit
I'm so sorry. I'm sure you did everything humanly possible for her. Chickens, being prey animals, hide illness very well. It's often impossible to notice until it's too late. I know that doesn't make it hurt any less though. Don't beat yourself up too much. Everyone has losses, and it's always hard. It takes time to heal. We're here for you. :hugs
Rest in peace, Raymona. You were very loved.
I hope both Fancy and Vulture are ok. You probably caught it in time. Hopefully no one else gets sick. I wonder if Raymona had something else going on too. She did seem to act egg bound. Maybe something ruptured? Idk.
The little Serama sounds super sweet.
What breeds are in the incubators? What I would do is, candle often. Once you see an internal pip, then up the humidity to 60%. I would leave at 60%, until you get an external pip. Once there's an external pip, up it to 65%. Don't let it go over 65%. See if that helps. 65% won't drown them. If you start getting yellowy membranes you'll know you need to raise it some.

Thank you so much for everything. Your kindness really warms my heart. I am so grateful for you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Breeds that are nearing hatch are Midnight Majesty Marans crossed with Silkie (eggs from Mally, my Marans Mix and Blue, my blue silkie), Crested Cream Legbars, and one Spitz. I can't see inside Mally's eggs very well at all. I can see the actual egg moving a tiny bit. Two of three CCL's are moving the entire egg a bit, one is SUPER active and will respond with movement any and every single time I shine a light on it. The Spitz egg moves a tiny bit here and there. I am super nervous about this possible hatch. I have to work tomorrow and Thursday. How often do you suggest I come inside to candle the eggs?

Thanks again. I really appreciate you helping and extending such kindness with me. That means so much

Ooh! CCLs are so cool. Are the eggs a nice blue color? 💙
Oh, these are Mally's test eggs right? Are they all viable still? So this is day 19 for all of the eggs, right? Do you work from home? Maybe 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch, and supper. Its no problem. I'm happy to help. You've become a friend to me. :hugs
I really hope better luck starts coming your way very soon.
