Please help! Do I need to put coconut oil on pip?

Pics
It's all of the eggs that were in that incubator. Well, two of them haven't externally pipped yet, but I haven't checked them since earlier this morning. I have been removing the hatched chicks shortly after hatching and placing them into an empty incubator to fluff them up. I'm taking them to join the other chicks now. You're absolutely right. I am worrying way too much. The high temps and early hatching just got me all worked up into worry wort XL. Life has to keep us on our toes somehow, right? Thank you again, for everything! I'm keeping an eye on the ones that have been externally pipped since this morning and the humidity. Thanks again. You're the best!
Haha! You're fine. I know it's very easy to worry. Sounds perfect. 👌
Everything's going to be just fine. How many made it to lockdown?

Nine of the eggs made it to lockdown. That's pretty great with such high incubator temps. I would have thought that they'd be killed at 101 and up, especially at extended periods of time. I have trouble with this Incuview since I received it. I email customer service only for it to stabilize for several days so I tell them it was probably a fluke. This has happened 3 times before this time, so I don't trust it anymore. I moved it in the beginning and that helped so much (I moved all incubators into a spare room that has no windows, it's not drafty, A/C vents are closed. It stays right at 74° all the time. Who knows.
I'll definitely look into those bands and try to order them tonight. I know that TSC carries some kind of bands but who knows how well they work. I'll just order those that you recommend :)

That is pretty good. The incuview sure does sound like it's on the fritz. I'm sorry.
The band's work really well. I used some for my quail and they were great. They come in pretty large quantities, but they're good to have on hand. They have to be changed out when the chicks outgrow them.
Chicken Hill makes some really cute adult bird bands too.

Everyone seems to be doing well. Out of the 9 eggs that went into lockdown, 8 hatched. The last one just didn't pip. I did see a little shadowing but it seemed weak in the shell. I am on Day 19 with 4 other eggs, so we'll see how that goes. I apologize that I didn't reply before now. I missed the notification somehow. Im assuming it was probably human (me) error. One of the eggs pipped on the narrow end. I didn't help because I felt like I was trying to help them without giving them the proper time to do it themselves. Well, it hatched out, all by itself. Every single hatch that's been done here has been a learning experience, the good and the bad. Thank you so much for everything. I wouldn't have gotten through this without you.

Yeah, the 9th was probably just a weak chick. Congrats on the other 8 though! What breed are these 4 eggs? Hopefully they all hatch!
Oh, no problem. It wasn't your fault. I've been having notification problems too.
i'm glad he was able to hatch on his own, that's great!

There are 2 Swedish Black's, an Isbar, and a Lavender Ameraucana (I believe it may be an Australorp, but I can't remember. The egg is marked LA and I've forgotten now. It was supposed to be Chiquitas and Isbars but the seller must have forgotten about what we spoke about. She has said that "if I can be patient, she'll send me the correct order and only charge me shipping"

Also,I wanted to mention that the Spitz is starting to get a tiny poof on the top of its head!

I know that you are a big fan of crested birds like I am, so I wanted to let you know that I had a polish hatch out of those last eggs! It appears to be a white crested black. Super cute! I ended up with a lot of Easter Eggers too. And a possible RIR, which I didn't want because I'm afraid of those for some reason. I don't know why it's burned into my brain that they're not nice. Maybe that's why I ended up with one, to show me their actual personality.

Awesome! Those breeds are really cool regardless. I hope the Isbar hatches, those birds are awesome.
Yay about the Spitz! I'd love to see some pics of him and the CCLs whenever you have time.
A Polish?!?! :woot
RIRs are dolls. All of the ones I ever had were so sweet. If you spend lots of time with it when it's young it should stay sweet forever. I had one RIR that was such a cuddly girl. But if it's a boy... watch out.

The last CCL that hatched does not look anything like the other CCL cockerel. I don't see any barring on the chick whatsoever. It's starting to feather in and I just can't figure out his feathering and why there is no barring. He didn't come from the place that stated a possibility of the CCL being crossed. He is supposed to be pure CCL. I guess we'll have to wait and see. He is doing so well with the younger chicks. That (along with actual age, hahaha) has made a huge difference in the way he acts. He does not act like a baby, as much, anymore. Could be his age or the new chicks helping him. The Spitz still isn't a fan of the new chicks but he will tolerate them
