Please help! Duck with limpy leg, bumble foot, wet feather

Perfect! Thanks for sharing! I’m getting the b complex from there tomorrow too so I’ll get that as well! Unfortunately I can confirm that she has wet feather. Of course you had just told me to be careful she doesn’t overdo it with my other duck and that’s exactly what she did! I’ve been keeping the baby pool out on nicer days for my other duck since holly couldn’t jump in it and left a small tub for her. Today she jumped in the big pool and couldn’t get out and got completely soaked and freezing. I had to warm her up inside and she’s doing better now though. I’m going to use the warm cloth on her glad tomorrow figured she needs a break today.

Any changes or improvements with Holly?
Unfortunately we had a set back today so I have her inside overnight to rest. It was a really nice day today so I had the baby pool out for my other duck and a small tub for holly. Holly hasn’t been able to get into the big pool with her leg issues so its been okay, but she managed the jump in today and couldn’t get out. She was completely soaked and shivering. I warmed her up inside and she’s feeling better but keeping her in overnight to be safe! Thank you for asking!

I'm hoping you don't mind answering a few more questions. I've been looking at the pictures and video you posted of Holly and I've got several things going through my mind but I just wanted to ask these things. Is the initial bumblefoot that the vet operated on, the same bumblefoot that's going on now? It's bumblefoot foot on one side and the swollen leg on the other? Before the surgery, was there a scab on the bottom of the foot? Any chance you have pictures of the bottom of her other foot? My apologies for the numerous questions. I'm just trying to clear it up in my mind 😊

No problem! I appreciate the help! Yes, she had a scab on the right foot when I took her to the vet. The vet did the surgery and removed the infection. After that the same bumble kept getting worse. I attached a photo from Wednesday and one from today. It looks really weird. The skin around the scab is turning black. I ordered the tricide-neo so I’m hoping that’ll help her and have been applying her topical medication in the meantime.

At the time of the vet appointment she had a slight limp on the opposite left leg. At that point the left leg would swell up sometimes and get better and worse. Now it’s swollen all the time and I’m noticing that she lays down with it sticking out funny and avoids putting weight on it, and limps. We did an x ray on it and it’s not broken but didn’t look normal. The vet thought it could be cancer or bone infection. After blood work she said no cancer and gave antibiotics in case it was infected.

Thanks again!

Are you keeping her foot wrapped all the time?
Did you notice any improvements in her foot or leg while she was on the sulfa Rx from your vet?
Any other symptoms with her? Does the swollen leg feel warmer to the touch than the other? Is it soft or more hard?
