Is the crop empty in the morning? A chicken feeds before it goes to roost for the night, giving them a full or nearly full crop. As the bird sleeps, that food in the crop moves into their digestive tract to be processed for nourishment overnight.

When you feel the bird's crop in the morning BEFORE she feeds, the crop should be empty. Is her crop empty in the morning??
