PLEASE HELP I THINK MY HEN HAS SOUR CROP!!!

Today one of my favorite hens was not doing to well so I picked her up and examined her I noticed that her crop was very big and full of liquid it also seemed like she was trying to regurgitate on her own. I trusted her instincts and I held her face down and she was like a hose!!! So much liquid came out I did some research and found out she had sour crop. I did what the website said to do but something strange is going on in her case her crop keeps refilling even though she doesn’t eat or drink anything I am giving her probiotics and apple cider vinegar in her water. I have a general antibiotic but I’m not sure to give it to her please help!

Antibiotics only aggravate sour crop and are of little use. Vomiting a hen with sour crop is extremely risky as the sour fluid can go into the airway and cause pneumonia or death.

Try olive oil, or a couple small coconut oil bits, and massage.
