Please help! Impacted crop 2 chickens in a week passed

I have lost 2 hens in past week, both had impacted crops..I was able to get my last one to vet, but not a few min after surgery she passed the vet said she also had a bacterial infection & I needed to check my other birds? They all look frail atm except for newly hatched (4month olds)..what am I doing wrong? Should I start on antibiotics? How much do I put in their water?

What do they eat? Any treats? Do they free range? Is there any long grass?

What is your general location? Have you wormed your chickens? Are they getting into spoiled or moldy feed? What do they eat? Do you know what kind of bacterial infection the vet was talking about, or can you call the office for the name of it? If you lose another bird, the best way to get a diagnosis is to have your state vet perform a necropsy. Sorry for your loss.

I now have 12, they are 2 & under..(5 are about 4m) others are 1 1/2-2yrs
I give them 16% layer pellets w scratch, they are in a run with grass, yes some long grass in run

How much scratch do you give? Treats should not make up more than 10% of their diet.
How long is the grass in inches?
