Please help! It's day 27 with no movement or internal pip from the duckling, what should I do?!

Pics
is he dried off and ready for the brooder yet?
I'm not entirely sure - the fur on his back looks clumpy? He's fluffy otherwise though. Its difficult taking him in out, he just jumps at me because he wants to nestle around my face and is very nippy

I'm still looking for a buddy for him, but in terms of set up, I have a brooder ready for him to go into and I'm planning to keep him inside because it's pretty cold and rainy, until he gets the feathers to protect himself from the cold or it gets warmer at which point he's going to be introduced to a flock of ducks a friend's acquaintance has - I don't have any ducks of my own, this is my first time hatching them as well.
Definitely make sure he has a friend before moving outside, it'd be a pretty big transition for him!

What a cute baby!! I wouldn't be able to part with him. lol
Sometimes you can find babies on craigslist, but if not, you can typically still order them from a hatchery even though it's well into December now. Only catch with that is that every hatchery I know of makes you order more than one at a time, for warmth and other reasons.

Ooh thank you! I don't think we have Craigslist - I tried pets4homes, gumtree and Preloved but they're all older and the hatcheries are closed right now so I'll try tomorrow and see if they'll allow me to get only one!

Do you guys think the duckling's ready for the brooder? And was I supposed to warm it up beforehand?

how much older? A few days might be okay, but I wouldn't be so sure about much over a week... Definitely try the hatcheries! Hopefully they'll have one the same age ish!

could you send another photo of the duckling, and yes you should preheat the brooder.
yes get it warmed up to temperature and make sure its working properly. Do you have a thermometer/thermostat to control the temp?
Alright I'll send another - I've turned it on, it should reach 37.5, the normal body temperature, but there's no control
