My hen, a Buff Orpington named Meatloaf, died a while ago (not because of the blindness) and I only have one bad picture of her. Unfortunately, it’s not on her blind side, so I cant study her eye, but here she is:Ok thanks she may still have a little sight in that eye she keeps it closed most of the time but I will try to get i pic thanks for responding!![]()
What was your routine & what did you do exactly to heal? How long did it take? Did you just use saline solution & the terramycin ointment and that's it? Currently dealing with this!!Guess what?? She’s back to normal her eyes still has that fit but she’s sooooo much better for awhile I thought i’d lose her her eye was sooo cloudy and she was always sitting puffed up in a corner but she’s doing so much better like I said back to normal!
So we were on vacation and when we got back she was not herself at all finally I found her eye I was flushing it with saline solution and put the terramycin on once but it wasn’t really helping in fact it seemed to hurt her more I was thought I was going to lose her all she would do was sit there puffed up in the corner I was so upset but finally she started to get better and she’s back to her loud bossy self I hope your hen makes it lilys case was a mystery! What was your routine & what did you do exactly to heal? So you don't think I should apply terramycin or should I? And how often were you flushing it & how long did it take before her eye healed? Maybe two weeks maybe more I tried to flush it twice a day I only got the terramycin on ondd CD e because their eyes are water proof it took like thirty minutes!! I would still flush it and put the medicine on and see if it helps….So you don't think I should apply terramycin or should I? Yes, you should try to use the saline to flush and clean the eye, and use Terramycin or plain Neosporin twice a day in the eye. That is pretty standard treatment for a sticky or gunky eye. You can get used to doing it by yourself, but at first it helps to have someone hold them.So you don't think I should apply terramycin or should I?
