Please help little hen has something wrong with eye!!!!!

Yes, you should try to use the saline to flush and clean the eye, and use Terramycin or plain Neosporin twice a day in the eye. That is pretty standard treatment for a sticky or gunky eye. You can get used to doing it by yourself, but at first it helps to have someone hold them.
Okay thank you so much I'll keep trying that. My hen she's trying to eat and drink but looks like her eye is causing pain when she goes down to eat. Either that or she can't see properly & that's causing her to not know how to eat or drink. We've been feeding/giving liquids manually by opening her beak & she seems to be eating fine that way. Will continue to do this until she gets better!

Can you post any pictures of what her eye looks like?

Thanks for posting this! I have a hen with a swollen eye. I have saline solution and vetrcin eye gel. I was doing it once a day. Seems worse today with white bubbles. So I will try 2 times a day. Ordered some eye antibiotics should be here in a few days.Is Neosporium is okay for eyes? I think I read that somewhere-
Didn’t want to start a new post since we have such good advice here. Twice a day- I got her separate from the others eating and drinking well. OP thanks for sharing ! Glad your hen improved.

I have used plain Neosporin ointment in the eye of my chicken in a pinch when Terramycin (oxytetracycline) was not available. Swollen eyelid, bubbles or foam or gunk in an eye can be due to a respiratory disease mycoplasma (MG,) but could also be from a peck wound or infection. Are you seeing any nasal drainage, frequent swallowing of mucus, head shaking, or sneezing? If a respiratory disease is suspected, I would try to get some Tylosin (Tylan) powder for her water from here:

Can you get someone to hold her and you take a closer look at her eye. It looks like she has an injury to the eye lid and a little blood in the eye, hard to tell if she's got a piece of debris or skin in the eye which would cause irritation and swelling.
Flush the eye really well with the saline, remove any dirt/debris/pus, then apply your ointment.
It may be a good idea to have the Tylan on hand as suggested.

Yes, I thought so too. Her eye had white puss in it. I flushed it well and applied eye ointment. Today she is improved. The key was removing her from the coop. I think we ha e a bully issue. Sigh dumb birds. I might remove bully and put in the sick pen after she is healed. I will post another picture later. Thanks so much for all the information , your experience has helped so many of us. I am on four years of chicken care and I still come here for advice. Your a blessing to us😊

Here are the pictures today- I struggle with close vision- even w glasses. The swelling has improved and my husband didn’t see any debris. I will say it worked better having him hold the hen and me really cleaning it with saline. Before I was holding her and trying to do it all… two people works better. I think one more day isolated and we shall see. One is with the inner eye lid closed normal eye and one with it opened.
