Please help me ID this chicken for my mom!

Here is a picture of my mom as a little girl in France. Can anyone ID the hen there with her chicks? Keep in mind this is France in the 1930's. I would LOVE to add some to my flock in honor of my mom who is a Super lady. She just gave me this picture and I LOVE it!!!

Kinda looks like a Delaware- but not sure they had them over there. Great pic!

Looks like a Delaware, but Delaware's were not originated until 1940. So I really dont know.

I thought Delaware too, but maybe this is the chicken the delaware harkened to. I don't know...

I can't see the feet, but I would bet it's a light brahma.

A Delaware is simply a New Hampshire Red crossed with a Barred Rock, so maybe if your mom had one of each breed, they may have developed a Delaware before the breed was developed. That would be intersting, then the picture would have a story to it.

You never know. I can see the left leg, not the foot but the leg. It has no feathers.

i was tinking the same, either a deleware or light brama. maybe when MissPrissy, Miss Jayne, SpeckledHen and so on see this, they might know, thye seem to have a good eye for breeds.
