Ok I was on a walk mid-day yesterday and when I looked down to my surprise there was an egg. We didn't know if it was one of our chickens so we grabbed it. When we got back to the house we figured out it was a turkey egg!!! When we found it, it was pretty cold. We have never hatched eggs because we don't have a rooster. On instinct we candled it with absolutely no experience. There is a large air sack my guess is that it is 15-19 days old it has space I between the air sack and a chick yesterday the chicks head was showing in that space and now it's not its smells fine and is in our make shift incubator. How should I candle it? The incubator is at a steady 101 degrees. We put a shallow dish of water in there for humidity and it's a red 25 watt light bulb. If y'all tell me how to candle it I will post pictures. I turn it every eight hours. I'm really worried its dead can you guys please help me?
