Roos can crow at any time early late or just right.

This is a roo I see saddle feathers which is odd beacaue barred rocks you can tell gender by colors.

My roo was the sweetest chick of our flock of 6. He would run up to greet me and be held and hand fed little treats. So I guess you could say he was somewhat assertive in his friendliness. But once he starting crowing his personality changed dramatically to a fiend from hell. How does yours compare with your other chicks?
 
We have a laying hen who's the boss of them all. The bird in question doesn't stand up to her at all. It cowers away when she comes near. It hangs with the black bird in the background and runs to the kids and I like a puppy. It does seem to stand up tall and run at our cat though, while the other three birds run away and hide.
