Hi,
One of my cherry valleys is not herself at all. I came home from school and saw she was unwell immediately as she was lying with her wings dropped down. I picked her up and saw some foam coming from her eyes but this seems to have gone. I had a look online and thought it could be sticky eye but she is incredibly off balance and can’t seem to use her legs very well and wanting to lie down all the time. She has sneezed once. She lives with four other girls, two of which try to mate with her (could that have caused this?!) she has acces to a pool of water that I clean everyday but recently the ground has been very muddy and it has been hard to keep the muck out of it. I have separated her but I don’t know what else to do and due to the virus that’s broken out I doubt the vet will be open
thank you
Please help!!!:(

I'd separate her from the rest of the ducks so she can rest and most important so you can keep a close eye on her. If the other ducks have been trying to mate with her and they keep it up she could have an injury. I'd pick her up and examine her legs and feet real good. Put her in a quiet place with food and water and see if she'll eat and drink. There is a possibility she could have eaten something toxic and I'll get you the link. Is she able to hold her head up or is it limp?
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/flushes-for-aiding-in-toxin-removal.700526/ I am sorry your duck isn't feeling well. Hopefully we can figure out whats going on. How old is she and what do you feed them?

Hi all
Thank you so much for your advice
I took her to the emergency vet on Wednesday afternoon and she wasn’t looking good. The vet said it was toxins or something inside stuck pressing on her organs
They kept her over night and if she made it were going to do an X-ray in the morning
At 4 am she laid a massive egg that she could only pass because the pain relief had relaxed her muscles. After that she was back to her annoying self! I am keeping a close eye though, in case there’s an underlying issue as to why there was a problem. I’m so happy she’s gunna be ok... I was so worried :)
