Please help! Tumor on chicken neck?

Beautiful chicken and I am so very sorry to hear of the situation. I believe she will be ok, and pray for her recovery. Wish I had the answer for you, but I am still learning. Chickens are such wonderful and amazing creatures, which I never knew. They are such loving birds... Pls. know that I send my best wishes, and believe all will work out! Perhaps when you take her to the vet you might relay what the cause was. Perhaps it will help others in some way. :)

Hers is kind of like the second one, but with much more feather coverage, so it’s very hard to see the actual lumps. Thy are large, and very hard. I think it could be ingrown feathers or something like hat, but they are just so hard that I, not so sure.

Thank you ❤️❤️

@Eggcessive if it’s an ingrown hair what do we do? Also, what are the chances there would be two? They are side by side though, and it’s an area she can’t reach with her beak so it does seem plausible.
In the threads I posted, they usually sterilize a sewing needle, and search for a feather under the disinfected skin where the lump is. Actually, there can be more than one ingrown feather often. But they also could be tumors as well. This is a case where only you can see and feel of them to know what they are like. Tumors (cancerous ones) usually have an irregular firm surface. Cysts or abscesses tend to be softer, more rounded. Lancing can sometimes express some cheese-like substance or fluid. Your vet may be better at this, but many are not that familiar with the types of Mareks symptoms or lymphoid tumors, or even ingrown feather cysts. Hopefully, yours can be helpful.

Did you also check her over for any injuries?
How’s her poop look?
Nothing else is wrong, poop is a bit lighter coloured, like a cecal poop, and smells like one too.

Do you think we should do this? I’m not experienced with doing things like this, I wouldn’t know what to do.
1. Wouldn’t my bird be in pain if I puncture her skin and search around ?
2. And what do I do if I find a feather? It’s round and smooth on the outsid but hard inside.
3. And how do I lance it?
4. If it is a Mareks tumor do you get it cutoff or what? Will she die?

I, sorry I just have no idea what to do, and my parents don’t know either. I’m not squeamish with blood or anything I just don’t know how to do it. There are very few poultry keepers around here so I don’t know if our vet would know what to do. We could try calling to vet tomorrow I guess.
