Please help..What can i give my roo for infection in his foot?

He may just lose the toe and be fine afterwards. I wouldn't make any decisions about culling him as long as he is comfortable. Topical treatment (betadine soaks and trip ab ointment) are great and I would continue. It needs to be kept clean, so if you can't keep it covered he needs to be in a crate or somewhere clean. Good luck.

I will! I called TSC and they said all they had was Terramycin to put in their water. is that okay? I didnt ask about the Penn-G though...i asked what they had for wound antibiotics for chickens. If they do have it..i am very bad with needles.. and i cant even imagine injecting a bird. UGH! what if i inject to far and hit their organs? or crop? I had to give my goat shots once..yeah..not good...poor thing! Where is the safest place(for idiots like me) on a bird to give an injection?

No...it must be the Pen-G..
it is a general veterinary antibiotic..usually kept in the refrigerator..
not expensive.
small bottle..and syringes..
1/4cc every other day, 3 days.
give muscle shot in breast., (some give in thigh)

fingers crossed for the roo..
don't forget the aspirin.

Go to TSC and get some Corona ointment. It`s in the equine section in a yellow tub(about pint size). If they don`t have it, most feed stores do. It`s the best antibiotic I`ve used in 51 years and you just smear it on. Recently had a cock with a wound similar and it healed in a couple weeks. Good luck.......Pop

I had a hen with a bad infection in her foot. I use the powder anti. but I also took a hypo. needle and put it into the infected area and opened it up and then sqeezed the puss out and opened it up enough to wipe out what I could. Then I put triple anti biotic ointment on it and wrapped it. I did then for a week and by then she was on the mend. She wasn't even walking on it at first. I kept her in (hospital) crate by herself up by the house and treated to TLC for that week also.
