Please help with sick peacock

If we listened to the "Doom and Gloom" contingent we would all be living in caves eating MRE's at this point. How many times has the world failed to end in the last 40 years alone? Remember Y2K, what a fiasco. Ever notice how most of the Doom and Gloomers are young? They haven't seen the end come and go enough times to realize it ain't worth getting your panties in a bunch about.

I have come to the conclusion that when our times up..... it's up, no amount of prepping is gonna make a difference when the time actually comes. But that's just my opinion.

I still remember my folks parents making plans during the tense years after the Cuban missile crisis... in retrospect, that actually made sense. But at lot of crises have come and gone since then

Yep, when I was small, I remember an old-time neighbor who sewed himself up from a gardening injury.

Now when we go to the doctor, or worse, the hospital, we just cruise from hand gel dispenser to hand gel dispenser, and I'm afraid to touch anything or even breathe in the waiting room...

And ALL the clothes go straight into the wash when we get home... There's scary bugs in those places

OH WOW and i thought i was the only one that felt this way, thank god i now know i am not a total nut, you would think with all the animal poo i walk in i would be that way here but it's my animals poo and not someone elses weird i know but i know where it is at and it ain't in my house on my shoes, my mom had nasal surgery a couple years ago she now has Mercer and had developed a rash on her backside from a fungus they are pretty sure she picked up from the hospital bed.

My biggest pet peeve is to have to use the restroom and they have soap , water and a blow dryer and no paper towels now how you gonna open the dirty door if you do not have a paper towel

Okay... so I have been looking into Tylan dosing, and I think that many people may have been under dosing, especially those with chickens that give just 0.5ml once a day.

Ultimetly it's up to you to decide what you think the correct dose is, but I think an acceptable dose is going to be.

a) says that the dose for a bird the size of your hen would get 0.18ml of Tylan 200, which is 0.73ml of Tylan 50, but it also says that it's given with aminoglycosides, which you aren't doing, so I don't think it applies.

b) says that the one can use Tylan 50 or Tylan 200, and the dose if 10-40mg/kg 2 or 3 times a day, which for your hen, using the Tylan 50, would be: 0.18 to 0.73ml 2-3 times a day.

c) says doesn't mention using the 50 or 200, it just says the dose is 30mg/kg three times a day, which for your hen is 0.55ml three times a day.

The Tylan *powder* website says that the total *daily* dose for chickens is 110mg/kg and for turkeys it 132mg/kg, which would mean between 2 and 2.4ml per *day*.

So what does one do? I honestly don't know what the correct answer is, but if I were going to do one of mine, I think I'd might give 1ml orally twice a day. If I were using Tylan 200, I'd give it IM.

Thats exactly what I was going to ask you! If she was yours what would you do and give her with the symptoms I have described. So 1ml Tylan 50 twice a day for how many days? I started her last night at .50ml and the same this morning. So I will up the dose.

That's what I would do, but keep in mind that I haven't used it but just one time, and that time the 2.2 pound hen got 0.8ml (I think) once, by injection, so I am hardly qualified to make any recommendations. I would feel so much better if someone wold post an amount their vet recommended.
