Please help!!!

I have 3 different incubators from the smaller ones to a sportsman I went to petco and got a good hygrometer and themometers even the sportsman vary slightly there not that much to purchase and i have a good hatch rate

I calibrated the meat themometer and it read 34* so 2* higher...it's reading accurate with the digital themometer on the incubator and I have it set at 101* I will go and get a hygrometer this weekend (soonest I can) and see where it reads....this morning I had 101* and still 50% humidity... so what does lower humidity in the beginning do?

Happy to hear about the temps!! This is AmyLynn's article it explains why humidity matters to the egg.

How is your temp? What happened when you calibrated the meat thermometer, how close was it to 32 degrees? I should tell you that some people, Amy being one of them, have great hatches in that incubator, like BYC910, said above. I didn't have luck but others get 100% eggs to hatch. You just have to stabilize it and figure out it's kinks. Do a search on here for "LG9300" and read some of the threads. The next thing to tackle is humidity. IMO, it's better to keep it lower days 1-18. 35% is best. You can use new, wet sponges so you can just take one or add one without messing with the wells. You can buy a cheap hygrometer at a pet store. They are in the reptile section. I use this one. Once you have one, I will tell you how to calibrate it.

I, personally, leave both my plugs out (I don't actually have my plugs...lol) for the duration of the incubation. I will cover to get temps back up quicker after candling and day 18 when I first add my water to help build up humidity, but generally my vents are always open. And feel free to ask me what you want. I don't do things the same way a lot of hatchers do, but it works for me. :)
