I made a mistake. A kinda bad mistake. Help please!

So I went down the allotments, to check on these four eggs under Luna (my light sussex hen) and I pulled out the nest box, lifted her up and there was a chick under her. This chick is still VERY young, not even eaten it's shell yet. So I try to put it back as quickly as possible but Luna jumps off and runs to the back of the coop. Then the chick jumps off after her -_-

I try to put the nest box back in but Luna won't get back on. She's layed down to roost with the chick...

I was down there for like another 20 minutes and she still hadn't gotten back on the nest. It's gotten really dark at this point, and if I went in I could've easily broken eggs and stuff so I left it.

I know I shouldn't have disturbed her now (but this was only my second hatch) and I kinda had to see if anything was there so I could put food down and stuff.

I just don't really know what to do. I know these eggs are fertilised cuz I candled them and I'm just really paranoid.

I'm freaking out a little bit so I'm sorry if I didn't make much sense...

so if I put her somewhere where she physically can't get off the nest that will work? Okay. Will they be okay for the night? If i go down now it will be pitch black
No, I wouldn't do that. She might accidentally step on the chick or break the other eggs. Is she already in a separate coop from the flock?

many people have had this problem like justin rhodes and he is shown to block the mother in. it had work for him. Also if you do it at night it will be better because the mother will be tired and calm. i do not think she will break her eggs. you interpreted her so just give her some peace alone with her chicks and she will go back to her mother nature
