Still here....still turning....I candled a coupla eggs with just an LED flashlight...I have movement!

I have not been real regular with the turn times...but faithful in the amount of turns...
I've got to go out of town for 2 days and 1 night...I can turn once before I go, and ASAP on my return...
Anyone with thoughts on how this might affect the eggs?
Thanks
I hope everyone is enjoying their "eggs", I'm loving it!

I know I can't candle too much! I'm thinking every 3 days up until day 18! I have seen a lot of guides that suggest candling that much... Plus I have it down to a really quick art! The eggs aren't really dropping in temp plus the incubator only dropped one degree while I did all of them! Since I'm using an ice chest the lid lays flat so I can crack it, grab an egg and then close it while I candle! It only takes me about 15 seconds to do the whole process including getting the egg back in! Before I set my eggs I practiced with a store bought egg to get it down to a science! I know I'm silly but it is working so far!!!!!! :-D

I'm struggling to get the temp up in my empty bator - I've adjusted it four or five times today and its still only on 95.

How long after an adjustment should I wait for it to get up to speed - before I adjust it again? 30 minute? an hour?

Thanks! I'm gonna work on getting more info up plus some pictures, I just don't know how to use my DH's camera! He is a photographer part time to make some extra cash and has a really fancy camera that absolutely confuses me!

I'm gonna get some pictures though asap and add some more information!

I would give it an hour if not two to stabilize before messing with it again! With mine I checked it every two hours and readjusted until I got it right!

I'm getting a little frustrated and a little scared right now - I just went and checked the temp AGAIN and its only on 96 - so I cranked the little handle thing around again to INCREASE temp and apparently got to the END of the INCREASE portion - it won't turn any further... so if this last turn doesn't do the trick - my bator won't get hot enough for the eggs that are on their way!!!!!

My humidity is still high, I took a little dish towel and moped up all the water in those channels around lunch time today....

I don't know what else to do - I'm going out to feed and water animals and will check it again when I get back

I didn't read back through this thread but are you using only one thermometer and could it be the problem, not the bator?

Was thinking the same thing. May be a bad thermometer. Check it mechanically too.
That heater should bring it to 120 if the thermostat is up too high.
