I am currently "breaking the law" and would LOVE to be able to stop worrying that the wrong person is gonna get a peek through my privacy fence and report me.
I've talked with all my neighbors around me and the are supportive and have no problem with them at all.(most want eggs, that I am HAPPY to provide) But like just the other day, we had some city workers testing the water lines and I worried so much that they might see my coop and report me. Its rediculous that I should have to worry about it, but with you guy's(and gals) help, maybe I won't have to anymore!
I just added my two cents worth. Hope it helps and you get to keep your chickens. If people are allowed to keep dogs then they should also be allowed to keep chickens. I posted on there "Have you ever heard of a person having to be taken to the hospital because they of a vicious chicken attack?" Maybe get them thinking about a thing or two.
PRC! Thanks for posting this. I went and looked at all the comments and I am so happy!!!!
Thanks to all of you who took the time to comment to our little paper
I hope we can get them to change this as I hate to see anyone loose their chickens. Especially in High Springs. This is such a rural farming community that it just slays me that there was a ban on chickens. My neighors have camels and a zebra. Not including their pigs, cows and large parrots for heavens sake! And I am only 1 mile out of the city zone. There are also cow fields - with cows - in the city limits. But for some reason they have a problem with chickens?? There is a cow field less than a 1/4 mile from my kids school. It's an Ag town
