I saw Thang in the contest!

Minx,,I have much more handsome Peacocks here much more suited for winning contests than Thang. My Peach male next year may be a world class winner. I also have a 3 year old BSSP male that is not sired by my peacock Roadtrip. That 3 year old will have a loud pied train and really stands out now, give him another year and Roadtrip maybe getting a run for the money as our favorite here.
Thang takes so much, but gives so little in return.I was the first human he seen after he came out of his shell so perhaps that is why he has a complex now. The person who made that comment about his pic must not have seen many peacocks before. And I'm sure the ones that do the voting will bury Thang and that will be as far as he gets. I need better backgrounds other than the white sight barriers inside my breeding pens, and a camera like Zaz has to get better pics, but with a subject like Thang I know even those would not help him in any beauty contest. Noone inside his pen has laid an egg yet so now I wonder if he has forgot what he's there for.Maybe he's mad because he's not with the 3 hens he has been with the past 3 years?

Photos of those peacocks please... Haha
Yeah but I don't like peach peafowl.

People like Thang because he is unique looking. I like pied and silver pied birds because of the interesting marking possibilities. To me Thang has some nice markings, and I always like face markings like what he has. The only thing is I like more colored train feathers but that is just me. I like more of the colorful varieties - India Blue, pied, Blackshoulder, all green subspecies, some silver pieds.

I guess I like whites too...I don't know the whole reason I wanted a white peacock was to see a beautiful white display but Frosty is disappointing me...The female whites are alright though they are pretty cute.

Well you will like my 3 year old bssp peacock then. the background in his train is all dark green but every eye is white which makes them stand out so well. He's in the front pen which has a metal roof over the outside pen so it's mostly shady in there all the time but he will be moved to one of the new pens this weekend outside so I will get a few pics of him. For some reason parts of his train feathers are not fully grown yet while others are long as they should be. And he loves to open up for me so getting a pic shouldn't be too hard

Ooh he does sound pretty. I can't wait for photos! My peacock Alto has a few shorter train feathers but that is because some of his train feathers got pulled out earlier this year and he is re-growing them.

I got this male moved late yesterday afternoon. He is paired with another 3yr old bssp hen,2- 2yr old bronze hens and a 2 yr old Opal bs hen. He produced 12 chicks last year running with 3-2 yr old hens so I know he's not suntanning in the pen.

Got the first egg of the season out of Thangs pen last night. It either came from a purple pied or opal pied hen. Now the world waits for more possible '"thangettes" to grace the planet
