Yes, charcoal helps, but so does adding a good digestive enzym/probiotic to the diet. You can give the same ones humans take, just read the label and make sure there isn't extra stuff like flavorings or anything. You want pure live cultures/microbes whatever. Usually they come in a capsule form you can open and sprinkle on the food. Personally, I do not give my dogs dairy products. I don't feel they were really designed to eat dairy, but that is just my personal deal. Too, sometimes you need more healthy bacteria than yogurt will provide. You can also crush the charcoal down and mix it into a batch of dog cookies if your dog won't eat it outright.
