Please tell me this isn't what I think.. Graphic pics. I put her down

The pictures I've seen before of the ovary looked a lot more "meaty" - have you opened that up to look inside?

I'm hoping thats a soft deformed shell of sorts.

looks like some sort of growth from inside the ovaducts that got pushed out. Maybe she'll be able to do good eggs now. I don't think it looks like tissue per se, since it doesn't really look like it has structure to it. More like an encapsulation the body would put up if you had like an implant.

I agree-- seems like a mass etc..
almost looks like she expelled her entire vent! EWWW!
Definitely show a vet (IF you have one in your area who deals w/ Chickens or birds--- we don't...)

Vets here don't deal with chickens either.

She is fed layer mash, scratch (cracked corn, sunflower seed, and some wild birdseed), water (one time straight, one time with vitamins, the next time with ACV, etc.) Some treats but not enough to interfere with her eating of the layer.

I have opened it and don't find any egg type stuff inside.

I have seen posts on here where a hen has lost an ovary and been fine with just the other one.

Silkie, maybe you're onto something.

I have her penned separate (at least I think/hope I have the right one) and will see how she does over the next few days. They were at roost when I went to do a last egg check-some of the pullets just starting are laying late in the day. I found it next to her backend. I had been in the coop a little earlier and it wasn't there then.

Honey was she acting odd? Gosh if I passed that monster I woud be acting odd, I think. You said there was no blood...does it look like skin? Has she been laying eggs?>

((Hoping all works out okay))

I don't know if she was laying or not. She was a month ago when I separated them down to find out. I currently have 20 chickens. One is a roo and the rest hens and pullets (some laying some not). I have separated the one that was next to it, they had gone to roost and I had been in there a little while before so I'm guessing it's her. She seems fine this morning as do all the rest. I'm going to leave her in the pet crate to see if she lays and what the egg looks like if she does.

I don't think it's a worm. Not tectured or shaped right.
