Plymouth Rock thread!






So I went back out and looked more carefully. I think that there are some feathers of intermediate length that are filling in the gaps. In the above pictures I tried to hold the coverts back and show the feathers I'm taking about. In the last picture my index finger is directly on them. I'm hoping I just caught this guy in mid molt and he'll be OK. I had ten cockerels and kept only him. Wishing I had an insurance cockerel now. I went back and looked at some notes from earlier this year. Next to this guy I mentioned that he had "good wings". So this adds to my hope. Thank you all for your comments and help.
 

SO THIS IS ONE OF MY BARRED ROCK SHE WENT BROODY AND I STARTED TO PUT RANDOM EGGS UNDER HER AND THIS IS ONE OF THE ONES THAT CAME OUT FIRST SHE IS DOING AN AWESOME JOB SO FAR AND THEY ARE SO CUTE THIS IS MY FIRST HATCHED CHICK

I would have kept an insurance rooster anyway. What if this one died? You always need a backup! Hope his feathers are okay!
 
I really like the colouration of Columbian Rocks. They are so very pretty!
