Plymouth Rock thread!

Hello! I'm normally a silkie thread person but I just got this handsome guy today at a farm I was working at! He is so docile, so as long as he doesn't get too obnoxious he can stay. How does he look? I honestly know nothing about barred rocks. Is he possibly show quality?

No, he is not show quality.
Okay, no matter

he's a sweet guy! As long as he protects my girls.

I followed up on him on the other thread:

Yeah I have a BR rooster straight from the hatchery, he is one of Ideals finest (<note the irony here)LOL anyway he looks exactly like the male posted there. I know he's not a pure BR boy, but he don't and he makes me some of the "most awesomest" egg-laying barred pullets you ever saw. I call them my production Cuckoos. He will more than likely serve your purpose well ChicksnHerps.

I've always said that BRs don't have to be show quality to be great birds. He has a nice head and if he has a good temperament, he's a keeper! My first ever rooster was a McMurray BR named Hawkeye. I've had his sons as well, including my beloved crippled rooster, Zane, who died suddenly this year at the age of 4 1/2. Zane was the feathered love of my life.

Dottie has finished her molt, finally.

Her daughter, Dru, is a doll and of course, too young for her first big molt, thankfully. Too many bald hens around here right now!

Druscilla, daughter of Dottie and the late, great Rex:
