Yes, I came home today to 7 broodies in the coop.....104 heat index today....not to mention the 1 in the garage, and 3 with babies in the yard. They are multiplying by the day, sigh....

And her sister, a splash rock, who was a failure to thrive chick who turned around....she is about 8 months old and still nowhere near ready to lay though.

Just a few pics of some kids. Im growing out some blues that are a cross of my splash over blacks. Im trying to get a good blue roo; havent had much luck. But I think I finally have one. Clear blue color, some lacing, which Im working on, and yellow legs. Looks good so far:

Wings do not have sex indicators.

Barred Plymouth Rock males are homozygous for the barring gene. Kind of a "double" bar thing going on. The males are lighter in color than the females.
