Polish chickens in deplorable condition

Awesome potagergirl!!! I'm glad you found some boots lol. I did get 3 of the bantams and 4 of the Rhode island red chicks unfortunately they kept some :(
I know what you mean about the train, have you every watched Honey Boo Boo well that's how close the train tracks are to our house we have 40 plus trains go by everyday some are polite with their horns some are shall I say jerks.Lol
You are going to love country life crickets singing, grass to mow, long leisurely walks, it will be wonderful plus you have a pond how lucky you are..:P jealous:ep

yes I believe I understand when you say the train track is close. Ours is across the street and I am thankful I don't live on that
side of the street but more thankful I will soon be out of this side of the street into a country home for those leisure walks,
picking bugs from the garden with the chickens, picking up horse manure from across the street for my compost bins.
I just love dirt! Yes a small body of water is thrilling. My grandson can't wait to go fishing

I would have probably tried to offer them more to buy the chickens but the sad thing is they would
just get more if they really wanted them to abuse. Just like dogs so many people giving them away free and they end up
in abusive areas. Worse yet the people think they are doing right by the animals???. It's just sad.
But at least now the ones you saved will have a happy home for the rest of their lives and you should give yourself a pat
on the back for saving them

We just got our first garden tilled up, speaking of dirt, and I can't wait to get out there and start planting but it rained 2 inches yesterday so now I have to wait a few days. I also have a grandson 8 months old he is my avatar. I would like to know what type of polish they are if they are pure or mixed.

I heard of using either babypowder or monkey butt powder all over red area to help the chicken..

The polish are doing fine although they are excellent escape artists even with their wings clipped. I was looking over the girls and look what I found....

This was one of the bantam chickens I went back for. I have since cut some of it's nails off I will wait a couple weeks and do it again. She is a very pretty bird although I don't know what breed she is..

Any idea what breed she is? That's all for now I will keep you updated on their progress, BTW I have gotten one white egg on two days so the girls must be worked up yet and not laying.
Thanks for reading...

Maybe she's an Ancona, but she has more white........she's very pretty though.

I have never seen nails like that! Omg, its amazing she can walk.... my chickens all free range and their nails don't ever need to be trimmed. But my goodness, how can anyone let them get that bad!?

It is sad but yes there are a lot of people out there are really like that and actually think that they are great caretakers of animals and judge others on a super high level far beaned anything they could ever accomplish ......

But that is just the way it is and there is really no excuse for it and it is great you are recovering these chickens .......
