Well they put aprons on the hens to keep the roos from tearing out the feathers, maybe a hat would work. Though how you would make a hat for a chicken I'm not sure.

I did just think of something though. When you breed phesants they can be merciless about picking at a rival. They use plastic blinders that look like bird sunglasses only they are solid. It is held in place by a plastic "bit" that passes between the beak. If you look up a gamebird supplier (Strombergs has them I think) you can find them. Put it on the ladies and see if that doesn't help.

i have golden laced polish...2 males and 3 females..their age is 10 monhs....the females are not laying eggs yet...even no egg song and males are not aggressive too....what can i do to make them to lay eggs....i think 10 months age is more than enough for them to start giving eggs....pls help

They may be moulting right now. My girls are and they haven't layed in quite some time. Polish roosters should not be aggressive. If they are, they should become soup!

But their feathers are not dropping (molting). and rooster agression means they are not flirting wth females yet

My polish were all late layers. Are yours getting layer feed? My polish roos show no aggression, and if they start, they are soup. It's unacceptable behavior, and a trait that I won't allow them to pass on to future chicks.

Our cockerels may squabble amongst themselves to see who is dominant, but never aggressive. If they do, they become stew. Also, flirting with females will not change an aggressive cockerel. He won't suddenly become nice when the testosterone kicks in.

Would be interested in that too. My Polish are no Bantams, but still waiting for them to start laying. I hatched mine on the 6/20/2013 and still nothing

My last Polish didn't start until they were around 9 months old. I just thought mine were odd. Maybe they all are late bloomers?

I have a polish hen. She is well into laying age but has yet to lay any eggs. Any ideas anyone?
