fried is good, fry them in something better like a good olive oil or I use either roasted walnut oil or preferrably macadamia nut oil, its got a buttery flavor to begin with. If you must, sautee them with onions if you like them spices and you can add a tiny bit of water at first to get them started then sautee it away till they are thick with their own sauces with them and the onion, veggies of choice.

You very much CAN eat shrooms w/o going overboard and ruining their benefit
I can't eat shrooms if they're squishy and taste like dirt and grease, they grab onto that hangy ball at the back of my throat and crawl out in a very unladylike fashion...I can't eat em. Fried is bad rn cuz I can't have carbs. Stuffed maybe.

I grow my own oyster mushrooms, since we are on this topic, spice them up, they are pretty moist on their own, you can water them very heavily the day before harvest and they will be very moist, very easy to either saute, or just heat and eat right like that. When they are big they can have their own texture almost like fish Id say. Sautee them with some flavor foods and you got a super healthy meal and they are so easy to grow / keep too. if you really want to go at it, shitake or lions mane is another great one to grow / eat flavor wise.

That sounds like a way to combat those pangs.

Maybe add in some nonedibles
Not possible. I have made a vallient effort to get used to mushrooms, they're so good for you. But after all this time I still can't swallow them, I can if they're fried or stuffed but then that defeats the purpose😂
But those are delicious stuffed!

I'm most definitely a meat eater but I eat the crap out of my veggies. Been making zoodles and sqoodles with a spiralizer.
In casseroles. Made like a pasta bowl. Done some as a pickled slaw.

But you also butcher it yourself too not just grind it yourself right? Like the meat is yours. Maybe that’s the difference. Cause even with clean equipment, you don’t know how somebody else raised their cows.

Where do you get yours?
Maybe pm me sometime if you don't mind

You can buy the cultures for the shrooms online, there are a few places, Ill have to go grab the bag out of the topside fridge and get the name for you.

Only wild shroom Ill eat in florida is the wild lions mane, it is absolutely unmistakeable. Well there's another one too but we won't go there, wow look at all the purty colors !!

I grow mine in rice straw, nice easy to take care of and reliable. I cant remember if I posted a pic of a crop here or not ill have to find the pic and repost

Aaron

ps the shitakes you can innoculate a log and they will grow, I got a few sitting by the front door in the damp, once the weather cools down I bet they bloom like crazy. The turkey fan is on it so I know it's still alive, tho turkey neck not edible sadly.

I like these Wood Ear mushrooms. They don't have that typical mushroom taste at all. You can get them at an Asian market. They usually come dried, and you just have to soak them in water, and then you can mix them into a stir fry or something.
